Thank you the late John Pipes. I remember my Father talking about the ‘Full Street baths’ in Derby and I think he said there were two pools as mixed bathing was not allowed then, these were sited near the Derby power station which was partly demolished, however, one half of the building remains and I am not sure but I think it’s some kind of museum, if so it may have a record of the baths.
I will try to find out, we have not lived in Derby for many years.
The last Lido in Derbyshire was closed some years ago, it was at Alfreton as part of the leisure centre, it had seperate diving pool which in the seventies was opened with a display from
Janet Dickens and Brian Phelps.
The other Lido in Derbyshire was at Matlock, they did put a roof on it, I don’t know whether it still exists, there was also the ‘New Bath Hotel’ at Matlock Bath which was a privately owned
but I do not know if this still exists.
