Albatross History-1980 A second place for Claire Richardson in the County Champs. She had recently become a competitive diver. She was to be a very able member winning titles in the future.
The annual Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire County Championships were held at the Central Pool. Title were successfully defended. Paul Holton had a nail biting competition after a very tight contest, and the winner Paul, was decided on the last dive. Out of the 14 divers from Albatross, nine gained places including Joy Davies-a first, with newcomers Claire Richardson-a second place, and Candida Thompson following both into third place. Mark Stroud and Mark Dearing rounded up a good evening of diving with a second and third place.
Louise Taylor 14 came fifth out of 20 competitors in the Southern Counties one-metre springboard 13-15 class at Crystal Palace. She really was regaining her fine form. Her degree of difficulty with spins and twists were coming along well.
There were more International trials for Marianne Green giving her a wealth of experience for the future.
