Albatross History-5-1980 Newcomer Abigail Child had started how she mean’t to go on! One of the first places to be gained in the Bexley Challenge. She was already a lovely plain diver in the short time she had been an Albatross.
Albatross History-5-1980. Team of 9 battled in Bexley Challenge at Feltham
Abigail Child and Juliet Green dived excellently. Abigail won the coveted first place with Juliet second. The Bexley Challenge was indeed a challenge but many of our up and coming divers were a force to be reckoned with. It was very exciting between the rounds with Mark Stroud; Mark Dearing; and Ewan Meek diving their socks off against tough opposition. Albatross Team were leading until the third round. Opposition from Cambridge & District Diving Club and several other clubs was tough and after a bout of nail biting see-sawing, Albatross finally finished overall in fourth place. Good scoring from Diana Seward; Caroline Knollys; Marianne Green and Louise Taylor.
